Domingo's Angel

Domingo's Angel
Jenny Twist
When Angela arrives everyone thinks she is a ghost or a fairy or the dreadful mantequero who sucks the fat from your bones. But Domingo knows better. “Soy Angela,” she said to him when they met – “I am an angel.”

This is the story of their love affair. But it is also the story of the people of the tiny mountain village. The events in this story are based on the real experiences of the people of the White Villages of Spain and their struggle to keep their communities alive through the years of war and the oppression of Franco’s rule.

    1. Hi Dale. Nice to meet you, too. The characters are fictitious, but I've drawn upon my friends and neighbours in my own White Village. Since I wrote the book I have come across more and more atrocities. The Spanish people are only now allowing themselves to speak about it. I may have to write a sequel!

    1. Hi Margaret. Another new friend! I love historicals too, and I seem to be obsessed with the WW2 era at the moment. My new novel is also mainly set in that period. Although my work in progress is set in Ancient Greece.
I also have a story coming out next month set in WW1. I'll put all the info on my site in case you want to follow it up: https://sites.google.com/site/jennytwistauthor/home

    1. Hi Adelle. It's so nice to meet all these new people!
I live in Spain and it was only after I moved here from England 12 years ago that I discovered its history. What an eye-opener! Once I knew, I had to write about it.

  6. I loved this story! The setting, the characters and the cat. For those who haven't read Jenny's beautifully written story, move it to the top of your 'to-be-read' pile. You won't be disappointed.
