Blurb:
Francesca faces a dilemma. She’s an art dealer in an upscale London gallery and can’t avoid meeting Rafe, a celebrity American painter who’s in London to exhibit his work and whom she’d known in Italy years earlier. He’d befriended her in Florence where she was attending a culture course, but their burgeoning romance had been abruptly terminated by his sudden and unexplained return to New York. Hurt by his apparent rejection, Francesca is now determined to back off him, but fate deals an unexpected hand in the shape of an old friend Sandro, an Old Master and a new surprise at Rafe's exhibition.

Enchanting Excerpt:
Francesca saw instantly that the chair was too low to be comfortable for his height, his long legs encased in designer jeans jack-knifed against his jaw. Brushing back a strand of her straight, fine blonde hair, she hurried towards him from her tiny office at the rear of Craig Fine Arts - a Bond Street art gallery. He was straight off a red-eye flight. She hadn't expected him until much later when, with her boss Alec Craig, the gallery's founder, they would discuss business with him over a leisurely lunch. But he’s here now and far too early. Francesca steeled herself for the encounter.

'Rafe Rostov.' He uncoiled his lean, powerful body at six feet topping her by several inches. I'm meeting with Alec Craig.' The voice was a deep, eastern seaboard drawl and long forgotten echoes from the past rushing back reminded her how soft-almost seductive - it could sound.

Francesca held out her hand. 'Did you have a nice flight? She took refuge in the usual pleasantries. Her level voice surprised her as her gaze met those cobalt blue eyes that flickered appraisingly over her slim figure, registering the tender curve of the mouth below gypsy brown eyes, the clean line of chin and the soft color in the high cheek bones.

She kept her face composed but her body tensed with the bittersweet of reunion and her heart began to race wildly. She hadn't set eyes on him for nine years, since she was seventeen. But that gut wrenching feeling was back even though he'd altered considerably, his height now carried with easy assurance, the smart-casual designer wear that spoke of success - the ungainly youth now a lionized sophisticate whose paintings adorned the homes of Texan oil barons and discriminating international collectors.

For the Love of Ginnie

Weekenders Romance Watch

Author: JoAnne Myers
Genre: Mainstream Romance (Anthology)

Blurb:
Handsome bachelor and Scientist Alex Anderson from the thirtieth century, returns to the Civil War with time serum to save his beloved Ginnie Wade from a snipers bullet, while finding a roller coaster ride of joy and perils.

Enchanting Excerpt:
I don’t know why I wanted to save the life of a person I never met. Maybe it was because I was a chemist and the unusual, fascinated me. Or, maybe, it was because I was obsessed with this twenty-year-old, named “Ginnie” Wade I had read about.

I drove to the bar to meet my best friend Will.

I immediately recognized the “waitress” as one of the latest “do-everything-like-a-wife” robotics. Robot manufacturing had become a booming business.

“I don’t know why you waste your time flirting with non-humans,” I said.

“Because, dear friend,” Will began, “beggars can’t be choosey, and ladies are in scarce supply. Beside, these ‘girls’ are all pink inside.”

“Ugh!” I said.

“Come on, Alex, loosen up. ” Don’t let your beautiful mind go to waste. This world needs people like you. People started treating me like a god once I became an entrepreneur, and I love it.”

Only I can find a wife for myself. I certainly won’t ask Will to hook me up. His sense of values are as artificial as the women he beds.

I wanted that spark that unites between two people madly in love...like my parents. That’s the kind of love I want…never ending.

Abruptly, I asked, “What do you think about time travel?”

“Are you serious?” Will asked. “Scientists have tried to conquer time travel for hundreds of years, and failed.”

“Maybe they failed because they weren’t Doctor Gabry and me.”

Will looked at me in awe. “Oh, my god, you’re serious!”

“We discovered something today in the lab,” I said, giving him an arrogant smile.
“We believe this is the answer.”

“So who is to be the Guinea pig?”

“Me.”

“That could be suicide.”

“Or the biggest discovery of the thirtieth century.”

Strange Inheritance

Strange Inheritance
Author: Serena Fairfax
Genre: Mainstream Romance

Blurb:

Little does Gemma know that the identity of the enigmatic mystery man who rescues her in a hurricane will only be revealed in very different circumstances after her desperate dash to her ailing uncle’s bedside. Her life changes dramatically when she constantly clashes with wealthy Stefan who plays a pivotal part in her future.

In the twists and turns, her heart proves less simple to manage than her new business venture. The English countryside of Northumberland with its castles and rivers sets the scene for the unexpected events which lead to her ultimate happiness.

Enchanting Excerpt:

Gemma’s slim frame tensed over the Honda motorbike as it jolted through the stormy January night. Behind her visor the dark violet of her eyes dilated involuntarily as lightning streaked across the sky to focus on the signpost - Fenwick 4 miles. Her stomach tightened with fear as she swung onto the narrow loop road. The bike’s wheels hissed along the wet surface; a flurry of hailstones bounced off the crash helmet that hid her chestnut curls. Storms and disaster seemed inextricably ever since those seven years ago, just after she’d turned eighteen, when just such a storm orphaned her when the parents small rowing boat capsized on Lake Windermere. Then the devastation of loss was softened by Uncle Arthur’s gruff but kindly support. Who would have guessed that a crusty bachelor, founder of a salmon canning business was capable of such unobtrusive help? Now Uncle was fighting for his life in the intensive care unit of the infirmary. She accelerated and let rip. It was a race against time - mercifully masking the all too scary thought that, once again, she could be left all alone. As trees creaked ominously, Gemma’s black-gloved hands instinctively hardened their grip on the handlebars. She checked the wing mirror and frowned. That car tailgating her was the same 4x4 she’d seen parked in the lay-by at the crossroads. Her teeth began to cutter under the drenched black leather biking jacket, the dampness seeping through to her T-shirt to her very bones. Suddenly she registered the intermittent on-off, on-off of its white headlights. Darn it, bikes have every right to be on the road. She killed her speed and it followed suit silently, menacingly, signaling with its naked beam as it had done for more than half a mile.
